Rainbow Rose Policies

Thank you so much for considering Rainbow Rose Mental Health Services! Below are our office policies. Please read them in full prior to the start of your first session and reach out if you have any questions.

24 Hour Cancellation

If you need to cancel or change an appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. You are responsible for 50% of the cost of your scheduled service if you do not show for your appointment or call to reschedule or cancel within 24 hours of your designated time.

Example: If your appointment is at 9am on Monday, and you call or text me at 12pm Sunday to cancel, you will have to pay the 50% fee. I will strictly adhere to this cancellation policy out of respect to my other clients, myself and those on my waitlist.

*If my schedule allows, and you are able to change your appointment time, the same day of your appointment, then I will not charge you the fee.

*If there is an emergency, please let me know as I may waive the fee.

Late Arrival

I will wait on zoom/the phone for the first 15 minutes of your session. If you are more than 15 minutes late, it will count as a no-show. Late arrivals will not automatically receive an extension of scheduled appointments, however, if schedule allows, I will extend to accommodate as much of a full appointment as I can.

Example: If your booked time is 5:00pm and you don’t arrive until 5:10pm, your session will still end at 6:00pm. If I am able to extend to 6:10 I will, however my schedule does not always allow for extra time and beginning on time helps me see every client.

Frequent No Show, No Notice

Missing 3 sessions will result in a conversation about continuing your sessions. My goal is always to help make sessions as accessible as possible, and I’m very open to creative brainstorming to help you be able to make it to appointments.

Clients who chronically fail to show or provide advanced cancellation notice for appointments may be asked to prepay for future services or may be required to pay their full fee to hold their spot.

Payments

I accept venmo, paypal, and check. For those who wish to use an FSA/HSA I use IvyPay. I strive to send invoices within a week of your session and ask you to submit the payment within that week.

In Case of Emergency

In the case of a crisis or mental health emergency, please call emergency services. My favorite global help lines are:

Trans Life Line:

The Trevor Project:

I encourage you to read their policies for more information about them and how they react/respond to emergencies.

Price Increases

Once per year, my rate goes up in accordance with the rate of inflation. This is usually roughly ~$5. While this is a small increase, I recognize this can be difficult for those on my sliding scale. For those who receive a lower rate for financial need, this increase will be a discussion and mutually agreed upon. Please speak to me if this causes an issue for you so we can work together on it, I strive to ensure sessions are accessible to all clients.

Diagnoses/Letters/Assessments

While I am trained as a psychotherapist and licensed as a Master Social Worker, at this time I work in a mental health coaching capacity only. Given licensure regulations in the states I operate in and the solo structure of my practice, I am not currently diagnosing using the DSM. I would not use the DSM regardless, considering my own feelings that the DSM has foundations that are built on structural oppression. Rather, I focus on working with clients around their struggles and co-creating a plan to address these struggles. Should you require a letter, diagnosis or formal assessment I will do my best to make a referral.

I do have extensive knowledge in these areas and provide resources to help with access, and regularly support folks through the process.

Insurance

Given the above, I do not accept insurance and am not reimbursable by insurance. Instead I have an extensive sliding scale and work with clients to find rates that are affordable to them. I do not require any documentation to be a sliding scale client.

I do have several reparations/deep sliding scale spots set aside for BIPOC folks.

While I do not provide superbills, I am able to work with FSA/HSA accounts.

Please speak to me if the financial aspects of sessions become prohibitive at any time during our work together. I am committed to mental health support being accessible and will do my absolute best to help.
